Samsung has officially unveiled its Galaxy Watch 8 series, bringing a refined design, brighter displays, advanced health tracking, and the power of AI right to your wrist. The lineup includes the Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, each catering to different style preferences while delivering premium performance.
Sleek New Designs for 2025
The Galaxy Watch 8 sports a redesigned “squircle” case that’s thinner (just 8.6 mm) and lighter than its predecessor. It’s available in two sizes — 40 mm and 44 mm — with an Aluminum Armor body and Sapphire Glass for durability. Color choices include Graphite and Silver.
For fans of traditional styling, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic retains the beloved rotating bezel and upgrades to a stainless steel frame with Sapphire Glass protection. Offered in a 46 mm size, the Classic comes in Black and White finishes. It also debuts a Quick Button for instant access to favorite apps or features.

FAQs About the Galaxy Watch 8 Series
1. Can I use my Galaxy Watch 8 without a smartphone ?
Yes — after the initial setup, the watch functions independently. However, to receive updates and full syncing benefits, a smartphone is required. You’ll still get notifications and app access, but features like Samsung Pay may be limited on non-Samsung phones.
2.Is LTE worth opting for over Bluetooth-only models ?
LTE models allow you to make calls, send messages, and use data even when your phone isn’t nearby. Non-LTE versions offer better battery life and cost less, making them a great choice if you always carry your phone.
3. Can I play music directly from the Galaxy Watch 8 without a phone ?
Absolutely. You can pair Galaxy Buds directly to the watch, store offline music, and enjoy on-the-go playback without needing your phone connected.
4. Is the Galaxy Watch 8 waterproof enough for swimming ?
Yes. It’s rated IP68 and 5ATM, meaning it can withstand immersion up to 50 meters. It’s suitable for swimming, but avoid exposure to saltwater, sauna environments, or soaps.
5. Is offline finding supported if I lose my Galaxy Watch 8 ?
Yes — using the SmartThings Find network, the watch can be located via nearby Samsung devices, even when offline. This works reliably even without LTE if other Samsung phones are nearby.
